The CarbonX 3 is a performance-driven shoe that features a carbon fibre plate for a propulsive, responsive ride. The plate is located close to the outsole for maximum underfoot cushion, whilst he midsole and outsole exaggerate Hoka's signature geometry to give you an even smoother ride. A wide, flared midsole platform offers a supportive and stable base without compromising on speed and energy return. ProflyX, Hoka's premium foam is a resilient EVA compound and sits above the carbon plate, with an injected rubbersied EVA sitting below it.

Probably the most noticeable upgrade comes on the upper; moving away from the engineered mesh we saw on the previous version and into an engineered stretch knit that features non-stretch fibres in key areas for support and structure.
