The marathon lives in the build. Week after week, the miles stack up. Not loudly, but persistently. There's a quiet tension to a marathon block, every session completed is one step closer. The big day isn't coming for you; you're going for it.
This year, as Sydney comes into focus, Up There Athletics and SOAR are bringing that principle to the community.
Introducing the Progression Series.
A progression run is deceptively simple: you start easy and you finish fast. Pace builds steadily throughout, never letting up, culminating in a final push to the finish. It's one of the most widely used forms of distance training and in SOAR's hands, it's become a signature community experience.
We're bringing it to Sydney for the first time.
The series runs across three Saturdays in the lead-up to the Sydney Marathon:

Each run covers 15km, departing from our Oxford St store, heading to Centennial Park for three laps, and returning to the store. Maurten will be on deck providing gels and nutrition with our friends at Coffee Supreme taking care of the post run refreshments.
